Information day for Eastern European nationals

AN information day organised by Polish Abroad with the support of SEEDS and the Housing Executive and funded by Derry City Council will take place on Saturday, September 24 between 1pm and 3pm at the Craft Village.

The information day is aimed at helping people who have recently come to the North West know their rights and to find out about what benefits etc they may be entitled to.

The event will be attended by representatives from a range of statutory and voluntary agencies including the PSNI, the Housing Executive, Jobs and Benefits, Hands Off My Friend and the Health Service.

Angela Askin, a Community Relations Officer with Derry City Council said the Council was delighted to support initiatives aimed at improving information and creating better awareness of citizen’s rights.

She added that the event will also provide Polish Abroad the opportunity to announce details of how they are extending their services to other Nationals from Eastern European countries.

A free light lunch will be provided and children attending can enjoy balloon making and arts and crafts activities. More information about the event, contact [email protected].
