Injured in bridge fall

A MAN who fell off a railway bridge was ferried part of the way to hospital by train, it has emerged.

Firefighters assisted ambulance personnel in dealing with a casualty who had fallen onto the track at Causeway End Road in Lisburn on Sunday, November 3, at 10.30pm.

He was stretchered onto a train from the 30 foot embankment and taken to Lisburn train station where he was then transferred to hospital by ambulance.

The 35-year-old man suffered broken ankles and wrists.
