Inner Wheel Presidenthands over chain of office

THERE was a special dinner at Malone Golf Club last month as the President of Lisburn Inner Wheel handed over the chain of office to her successor Mrs Kathleen Brown.

Mrs Shirley McMinn, who is from Anahilt, performed her final duty as President of the group as she presented the chain of office to Mrs Brown, who will begin her time as President in September, with activities for the Inner Wheel now over for the summer.

Mrs McMinn also presented a cheque for £2,600 to Margaret McElfetrick from the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Northern Ireland, the President’s chosen charity for the year, at the event on Tuesday June 7.

Speaking about her year as President, Mrs McMinn said: “It has been fantastic. The support I have had from everybody has been great. I have had a busy year, going to conferences and raising money alongside the Rotary Club. I will miss it, although I will still be on the committee. I was Vice President for the year before my Presidency and I have had a very good committee, everybody has been very supportive and have made the year very easy for me.”
