Insurance had been cancelled

A 43-year-old man was fined £250 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without insurance on July 6 this year.

Erin Tar Eoin Seamus Hurle, Garland Avenue, Lurgan, was also given six points.

The court heard the offence came to light after he had been stopped by police on the Drumgor West Road.

Because of a non payment of a direct debit the insurance had been cancelled on April 20.

Mr Gabriel Ingram, representing the defendant, said his client had lost his employment in January and had no income.

He added that Hurle was now back in work and the insurance situation had been addressed.
