Insurance premiums too high says Palmer
Councillor Jenny Palmer, a Lagan Valley Ulster Unionist Assembly candidate, has challenged insurance companies to show common sense when quoting prices for car insurance for young drivers in the constituency.
“The young drivers are being priced off the road, or in some cases encouraging non-insured young people to drive without adequate cover,” said Mrs Palmer. “Some quotations for young people in the Lagan Valley constituency are as high as running into thousands of pounds per year and it’s simply not affordable for the majority of young people or even their families. While I appreciate young people are involved in accidents, I feel the premiums are excessive.”
