International night at Gracehill and Galgorm WI

PRESIDENT Nina Marrs was in the chair for the March meeting of Gracehill and Galgorm Women's Institute; it was International Night.

The guest speakers were Jerry and Mura Sayers who had spent 2 years in Ethiopia as VSO volunteers. Photographs of the terrain and local customs were shown and the Sayers modelled clothes some of which would be worn by Christians ,some by Moslems.

Members were interested to view modes of transport and marketing of vegetables, milk and goats (the products from ‘ farms’) which are 10 x 100 metre strips of ground.

For the monthly competition Jerry and Mura prod President Nina used a quiz about Ethiopia testing our historical and topical knowledge of the country; winners were Rosemary Frayne, Edith McGeehan and Liz Hughes.
