Internet scam warning
POLICE in Ballymoney are warning the public to be wary of internet scams.
A spokesman said: “If sellers receive a response from interested parties offering to send them more money than the item is advertised for, suggesting the seller lodges the cheques, then reimburses the buyer with the difference - do not do it.
“It is a scam and the cheque will not be honoured and you will have neither the item or the money. If a person is advertising and selling items they need to adhere to the exact conditions laid out by paypal because in the case of a dispute of this kind if conditions were not met paypal may not honour the transaction.”
