Inver ladies fund projects overseas

Inver Area WI, comprising Women’s Institutes from Glenarm, Ballynure, Larne, Gleno, Cairncastle, Millbrook, Whitehead, Islandmagee North, Ballycarry and Magheramorne, has raised over £3,000 in support of ACWW ( Associated Countrywomen of the World).

The funds will be used to help women in need all over the planet.

The aim of ACWW is to improve the lives of women internationally by education and relieving poverty and sickness.

The clothes will be supplied by Menarys and will suit all ages.

Tickets costing £8.00 are available from Menary’s Larne or any WI member. Supper will be included in the price.

On April 26, WI members will take part in a sponsored walk in aid of ACWW from the Prom Cafe to Carnfunnock Country Park and back, leaving at 2.00 pm.

• Dominican Republic - providing training and information on reproductive health and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.

The WI says that projects are monitored and inspected throughout the process to give assurance that funds are “making a real difference” in these countries.
