Investment is good news for North West: Sugden

MLA Sugden said: “ I congratulate seven businesses in East Londonderry on their expansion and the creation of 51 new jobs in the North West. This is a success story for indigenous business.

“P & L Electrics, Reinforced Concrete Detailing Services and Limavady Roller Doors, all from Limavady, join Carnroe Supplies from Kilrea, Seating Matters in Ballykelly, Coleraine’s Worldwide IPGenie and Annie’s Traditional Food in Garvagh.

“I am delighted that these companies will bring jobs right across my constituency, where I know there is a skilled pool of people ready to take advantage of these employment opportunities.

“This is good news for the North West and it highlights the importance for our local economy of investing in indigenous companies. These local businesses are reaping the rewards of their hard work in partnership with Invest Northern Ireland. This combined investment will generate £1 million per year in salaries into the local economy.

“The Government must continue to support local businesses and start-up companies as a way of encouraging and sustaining economic growth. I am pleased to see that commitment in the budget this week and in today’s investment.

“I welcome this news today, but I am mindful that businesses in the North West face difficulties. A lack of infrastructural development causes problems with broadband and connectivity, and there are barriers to accessing the capital funds needed to sustain and expand companies, or get them off the ground. I urge the Government to continue their investment to build upon this positive step.”
