Invitation to join the Giant’s Ring Ramble

THERE’S a chance to join the National Trust Belfast Area Warden for a walk and talk around one of the most picturesque and historic areas in the Lagan Valley and around the beautiful Minnowburn and Ballynahatty country paths next Saturday, September 3rd.

There are three main stopping points on the tour.

Terrace Hill rose garden with its magnificent views over the Lagan Valley, the Sandpit Field, famous for the Pop for Peace concert held there in the summer of 1969 and of course the famous Giant’s Ring, a gigantic Neolithic Henge thought to be around 5000 years old.

Wet weather clothing and stout footwear should be worn and the route contains stiles, and steep steps in places.

Charge is £3 for adults, £1.50 for children

Anyone who would like to join the walk should meet at Minnowburn car park at 2pm, The walk will take approximately 1-2 hours.
