Ireland Salvationists gathering

The head of The Salvation Army globally will touch down in Belfast next week to celebrate the biggest ever gathering of Salvationists in its Ireland division and Coleraine and Ballymoney volunteers will be in attendance.

General André Cox, who is the world leader of the 1.5 million-strong church and charity as it celebrates 135 years of work in its Ireland division, will be the guest speaker at The Salvation Army’s congress in Belfast from Friday March 6 to Sunday March 8. Around 700 Salvationists and supporters of the organisation are set to gather in the city.

The Salvation Army has 19 churches in its Ireland division – 17 in Northern Ireland (Ballymena, Ballymoney, Bangor, Belfast Citadel, Belfast North, Belfast Sydenham, Belfast Temple, Coleraine, Dundonald, Enniskillen, Larne, Limavady, Londonderry, Lurgan, Newry, Newtownards and Portadown) – and two in the Republic of Ireland (Dublin City and Dublin South).
