Irish book collection realises £1500

A collection of Irish Books, offered in several lots created a lot of interest at last week’s McAfee Auctions General Sale in Ballycastle.

The books, part of a local estate clearance realised up to £520 per lot and created province wide interest.

Demand was also high for a number of violins, and although some needed repair, prices soared to £440 for one, while others realised £150 and £130.

Other prices included a brass faced longcase clock £775, two Gregory Moore oils £480, set of Waterford crystal glasses £135, a painted dial longcase clock £300, gold sovereign £180, empire medal £55, W. Dalgish oil £310 and Carrie O’Duinn watercolour £105.
