Irish Playgroup in Knocknacarry

THE GLENS Of Antrim Irish Language Playgroup - Tachráin na nGleann – has moved to Knocknacarry Parish Hall.

The parent and toddler group, which has been running since September 2009, runs every Thursday morning from 10am until 12 noon.

The group is open to all children of pre-school age. Already a number of local children and parents, most of whom had no previous background in Irish language, have been enjoying learning through play, songs and stories.

The children have the opportunity to enjoy arts and crafts, learn new songs and play with an extensive range of educational toys - a healthy snack is also provided.

For parents it is a chance to make new friends in the area and learn some Irish rhymes and songs to enjoy with their children. There are also plans underway to open a nursery school – Nascoil Lorg adain – in September 2011.

All parents in the area are invited to bring their children along on Thursday mornings. Cost is 2.
