Is Portstewart Strand UK's best blue flag beach?

To win the award, the County Londonderry town will need to receive the most votes on the Holiday Letting’s website www.holidaylettings.co.uk/blog/the-uks-best-blue-flag-beaches/

Voting ends on 31st August, with the beach receiving the most votes crowned “UK’s Best Blue Flag beach” on the 1st September.

Saskia Welman, spokesperson for company said: “Portstewart Strand made it to our final list for its beautiful, ancient dunes and its popularity with walkers throughout the year. We would encourage all those who make use of this lovely beach to get behind them and vote!”

Gill Mcllmoyle from the National Trust at Portstewart Strand said: “The fine golden sand stretches for two miles and is perfect for sandcastles. If you’re brave, take to the water and enjoy swimming, surfing and water sports, then this is the beach for you.”
