Islanders battle to save the historic Millbay Inn
DETERMINED Islandmagee residents have launched a campaign to prevent their historic local pub being turned into a residential development.
The Millbay Inn, which has been a key part of the community for almost 200 years, faces being torn down to make way for 15 houses and 10 apartments at the site between 75 and 79 Millbay Road.
But, despite the fact that planners are minded to approve the application, a number of local residents have come out fighting in a last-ditch effort to save the pub from extinction.
