USA choir visit

Saturday 25th June sees the visit to Garryduff Presbyterian Church of the Senior and Bell Choirs from Zion Lutheran Church, Iowa City, USA.

This will be as part of a tour that the choirs are undertaking throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland. The concert begins at 7:30pm and admission is free. However, there will be a collection taken up at the end of the evening for the Cancer Research charity.

The connection between the choir and Garryduff Presbyterian church is with members of the Grundstad family who perform with the choir.

Their father was serving with the US Navy during WWII in Auckland, New Zealand and met his future wife, who had emigrated to there with her family from the Garryduff area. The choir members will also be spending some time in the Ballymoney area during their visit.
