It’s all go at the Riverside!

COLERAINE’S Riverside is gearing up for three different shows in the coming week and getting ready for a “takeover” in the one following!

On Thursday night, 6th September, gospel singers Elaine Wood and Steve Farlow will be hosting a Country Gospel Night, compered by Terence McKeag.

On Friday 7th September, brilliant stand-up comedian Kevin McAleer returns to the Theatre with his brand new show.

And on Saturday 8th, radio and TV star William Caulfield will, similarly, open his brand new show entitled “One Step Forwards, Two Steps Back..”

Bookings for all three shows are going well and all three promise to be great openings to Riverside’s new season of events.

And the following week is even busier – with the annual return to the Riverside main stage of the Dominic Graham School of Irish Dance with its new production entitled Historia.

Riverside Youth Theatre Update

Auditions took place last Saturday for a limited intake of new members into the Riverside Youth Theatre and we’ll have further details of new developments in next week’s paper.

The Youth Theatre has already secured performing rights in order to present the Walt Disney musical Aladdin Jnr, as its showcase production for Easter 2013 and casting will take place in early October.

Productions for Primary and Secondary Level Schools

Riverside wants to remind locally-based teachers that there are several productions of interest to both primary and secondary schools in the Theatre’s current line up for the autumn.

This includes a sparkling, traditional Christmas Panto and six other shows which will assist children studying for state and other examination syllabuses. The Theatre has emphasised that it will give generous discounts to school parties of ten and over attending productions.

The easiest way to book tickets is to purchase online via www.riversidetheatre.org.uk and Riverside’s staffed box office opens at different times each week to accommodate performances. A recording gives full details of opening hours via 02870 123 123.
