It’s panto time...oh no it isn’t...oh yes it is

As winter takes hold it’s time for some festive cheer as Lisnagarvey Operatic Society brings everyone’s favourite pantomime ‘Cinderella’ to the Island Hall stage.

Rehearsals are well under way for what promises to be a magical panto full of song, dance, jokes, gags, romance and, of course, a healthy dose of audience participation, which is sure to delight kids – of all ages.

Join Cinderella, played by Naomi Lloyd who recently starred in High School Musical in the Island Hall, as she attempts to meet her Prince Charming (Claire Cranston) despite the best efforts of the horrible Ugly Sisters (Rea Campbell and Andrew Devonshire) and the evil Demoness Blackheart (Liz Pentland) and her nasty sidekick Jack Frost (Anna Lenzi).

Help is at hand though - Cinderella’s friends Buttons and Poppet (Andrew Scott and Jane McKibbin) are by her side and with the help of a little magic provided by the Fairy Godmother (Lauren Molloy) and Cupid (Natasha Reilly) she SHALL go to the ball.

The fantastic cast is completed by: Ashleigh Gault (Dandini), Demi Weir and Nicole Bell (Hue and Cry) and Kevin Murray (Baron Stoneybroke).

Award winning Director Simon Pyper returns again this year. “For me, a good panto is a key part of Christmas,” he said. “This year’s cast are incredible and what better way to kick off the festive season than a night out at the theatre to see this wonderful production of Cinderella.

“I just can’t wait for the show to get started.”

Cinderella takes place in the Island Hall, Lisburn, from Saturday December 5 until Saturday December 12 with evening performances every day at 7:30pm and afternoon performances on both Saturdays at 2:30pm.

Tickets are £10 and may be purchased from the Box Office in the Island Hall on 028 9250 9254 or online at www.laganvalleyisland.co.uk.
