Jailed for the theft of X-box games

A WOMAN who stole X-Box games from a store in Ballymena has been sentenced to two months' imprisonment.

Rachel Coltart (29), with an address at Leyland Road, Ballycastle, but who is currently serving a prison sentence, was given concurrent two month sentences after pleading guilty to two theft charges, at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

The court was told that on March 4 last year, Coltart stole 14 X-Box games, to a total value of 555.86, from a shop in Ballymena.

Coltart also admitted stealing a Sky TV remote control from a different store on July 21.

A defence barrister said that arrangements had been made for Coltart to go and live with her parents in Scotland on her release.

District Judge Des Perry said the sentences he handed down would not interfere with Coltart’s scheduled release date.

He told the defendant: “Get yourself off to Scotland and try to get your life back in order.”
