Jason raises £1000 for Cancer Centre

A local man has raised £1000 for charity.

Jason Hargan, from Corkey, and members of the McKee family, also from the Loughgiel area, decided they wanted to contribute to a good cause after close friends had suffered from cancer.

In total, twelve people embarked on the 16-mile trek from Ballycastle to Cushendall on July 9 and had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

“It took us four and a half hours, but we had plenty of stops on the way. It was a relaxed outing,” Jason told the Times.

The money was presented to Colleen Shaw from Friends of the Cancer Centre, at Belfast City Hospital, who expressed her appreciation for the donation.

Jason, a bus driver, wants to thank everyone who contributed to the cause and, in particular, the McKee family for helping him in the walk.
