Jobless total rises slightlyin Lisburn
THE number of people registering as out of work rose very slightly in Lisburn in February.
According to statistics released by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, the number of people unemployed rose by 0.6% during the month.
Over the last year unemployment in Lisburn has gone up by over 7%. In February a total of 3,465 people claimed unemployment benefit in the city, 20 more than the previous month.
In Northern Ireland as a whole there are 62,778 people claiming unemployment benefit, just over 5% of the working age population.
