Jobs boost as Galgorm Castle Estate looksset to expand

BALLYMENA could be in line for a major jobs boost after it was revealed plans are afoot for further development at Galgorm Castle Estate.

Mayor PJ McAvoy has revealed that a major announcement is planned, with up to 60 jobs being created as part of the project.

Speaking at last week’s monthly meeting of Ballymena Council, Ald. McAvoy announced that both he and the Deputy Mayor would be meeting with Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster and Invest NI’s Alastair Hamilton.

He said that as part of the Minister’s visit, they would be launching the new Galgorm Estate Garden Centre and business units worth an investment of approximately £2 million.

“This is a great news story for the borough,” Ald. McAvoy.

He added: “During the visit, we will be discussing the tourism potential of our borough, including the St Patrick’s trail, something which is dear to my heart.

“We will also be launching the Galgorm Castle Estate garden estate and business units which will see a £2 million investment and up to 60 jobs created.”
