John’s birthday bonus for Marie Curie

MOSSIDE man, John Adams, realised the genuine friendship he enjoys when he held his 40th birthday party recently.

For John decided to forgo gifts and, instead, asked for donations for a charity he feels makes a valuable contribution to the sick.

His party was held at the Bushtown House, near Coleraine, and those attending contributed a whopping £1560 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Last Tuesday, volunteers from the Moyle and District Support Group of Marie Curie, Briege and Winnie McGarry, were presented with the money at John’s home at Manister Road.

His two sons, Jordan and Sam, accompanied their dad in handing over the cash and cheques and Briege and Winnie believe it could be one of the biggest contributions made to the group via a birthday party.

Naturally, any donation is welcomed by the Group, but John’s effort brought much praise from Briege and Winnie who assured him the money would make a big contribution to the work being carried out by Marie Curie.
