Join dogs’ walk to save puppy’s life

Dog lovers from the Lurgan area are taking part in a sponsored walk on Saturday (21 March) in a bid to save the life of a Cavalier King Charles puppy.

Fifteen week old Callan has captured hearts after it was revealed that he has a life-threatening heart condition called pulmonary stenosis. Callan is being fostered by Catherine Southwell, and is due to have a life-saving operation at Cromlyn House Veterinary Clinic in Hillsborough - but it will cost £3,500.

Since an appeal was made to the public, fundraisers have taken place across the country - including a weekend appeal at Pets at Home in Sprucefield. Those behind the appeal would like to voice their gratitude to Golden Crust Bakery; Roselip Bakery, Banbridge; Scotts Bakery, Fivemiletown; Great Northern Soft Drinks, Lurgan; Pets at Home, Craigavon; Jollyes, Lurgan; and the Tesco stores in both Lurgan and Craigavon.

The fundraising walk will take place in Lurgan Park on Saturday, beginning at 2pm. The walk costs £5 for adults and £2 for dogs. Each dog will receive a doggy bag and adults will be treated to tea/coffee and a cupcake, with juice and crisps for the children. Every penny raised from the event will go to the Callan Fund.

Those wishing to donate to give Callan a chance of life, can go to the Paypal address at [email protected]; phone Cromlyn House at 028 9268 3711, or visit www.cavaliers-in-need.org
