As well as asking their existing members to donate bags of groceries any new member who joins Curves between March 1 and 14 inclusive will have their joining fee waived in favour of foodstuff - meaning you can manage your weight as well as your wallet - whilst doing your bit for charity.

All food collected by Curves Coleraine will be donated to Women's Aid.

Sylvia Nixon, Manager of Curves Coleraine, explains: "We always receive a huge amount of support for our annual food drive. Last year Curves managed to raise 3,354,806 kilos of food globally and 29,460 kilos in the UK alone.

"We're delighted to be able to show our support for Women's Day but also do our bit for our local Women's Aid."
