The annual event, now in its 30th year, continues to attract large crowds to the Portstewart Strand walk. Everyone from babies in prams to pensioners and even a few four legged friends join in with all the excitement and fun and together help raise vital funds for the local charity.

Urging the local community to get out walking this Saturday and explaining the importance of their efforts is fundraiser manager from Northern Ireland Hospice, Joanna Pawson:

“Even if you haven’t yet registered just come along on the day- we would love to see you.

“Remember money raised from Hospice Big Walk Week goes directly towards providing care services for people and their families living in your local area".

If you would like to register for Hospice Big Walk Week call 028 90 777 123, visit www.nihospice.org or just come along on the day. The Portstewar walk starts at 10am.
