Join the Olympic Torch host party and family fun day at Dervock Riverside Park from 3 pm – 5.00 p.m. on Sunday 3rd June ahead of the arrival of the Olympic torch relay. Traffic is likely to be busier than usual so please allow more time for your journey. Follow the signs to the free car parking.

As the London 2012 Olympics approaches a series of events in Dervock and Ballymoney town celebrate the outstanding sporting achievement of Dervock-born Olympic champion Kennedy K McArthur who won the marathon at the 1912 Olympics.

Speaking ahead of the torch event Development Chair, Councillor John Finlay, said “2012 marks the centenary of Kennedy K McArthur’s victory in the 1912 games. It is fitting that his home village has been included on the London 2012 Olympic torch route. The Council extends an invitation to citizens across the borough to “be part of it” and come and welcome the Olympic flame to the village on 3rd June.”
