Join the '˜Winter Wooly Walk' and help NICFC

A lovely family day out by the sea in aid of an incredibly special cause - that's what a Portstewart business is urging locals to sign up to this February.

Connor Allen, who manages Harry’s Shack in Portstewart, will throw open the doors of the eatery on Saturday, February 27 to welcome those taking part in the ‘Winter Woolly Walk’ in aid of Cancer Fund for Children.

The annual event which is taking place at various locations across the country on the same day returns to beautiful Portstewart Strand for the first time in many years.

Before and after the walk tea, coffee and delicious baked goods will be provided by the popular family-run restaurant situated at the entrance of Portstewart Strand.

Connor said: “We have now been open for 20 months and feel with the great support we have received that it is time to give back to society by helping a charity so close to our hearts. It is extremely important to us to ensure that families and in particular kids feel welcome and have the most memorable time with us.”

This year Cancer Fund for Children hopes to raise £30k via Winter Woolly Walk. The charity relies on fundraising in order to continue its vital work.

Registration for the Portstewart Strand walk is at 2pm due to tide times.
