Jubilee Parade

The City of Londonderry Grand Orange Lodge will host a Jubilee Parade in the Waterside on Saturday.

The parade will form up in the Dennet Gardens area of Irish Street at 2.30pm, with the parade expected to move off at 3pm.

The route will be: Dennet Gardens, Mourne Drive, Finn Gardens, Bann Drive, Sheskin Gardens, Woodburn Park, Lisnagelvin Road, Richill Park, Cambourne Park, Rossdowney Road, Shearwater Way, Lapwing Way, Roulston Avenue, Bonds Street, Glendermott Road, Rossdowney Road, Lincoln Courts, Rossdowney Road, Woodburn Park, finishing back at Dennet Gardens.

It is expected that up to eight bands will take part, together with the City of Londonderry Grand Orange Lodge, associated District and Private Lodges, local Ladies Lodges, together with Junior Boys and Junior Girls.

The City Grand Lodge PRO, Victor Wray, appealed for a good turnout for the celebration: “We would like everybody to support the Jubilee Parade being staged by Lonodonderry Grand Orange Lodge.

Meanwhile, the City of Londonderry Orange Lodge will hold it’s quarterly meeting tonight, Wednesday, June 6, at 7.30pm in Kildoag Orange Hall.

Among the items discussed will be the arrangements for the Twelfth as well as the Covenant Day Parade in Belfast (Stormont) on September 29.
