Julie really is a very special person

A BALLYMONEY lady is our April worthy winner of the 'Bouquet of the Month', thanks to her parents.

Julie Wright has been looking after her 'beloved' grandmother who is going blind and suffers from Alzheimers for the past six years.

In an emotional letter her parents Peter and Marlene Moye of Trinity Drive explain: 'We would like to nominate our daughter for 'Bouquet of the Month' for the following reason.

'Her grandmother, Mrs Agnes Taggart from Ballymoney has for the last 14 years been diagnosed with Alzheimers disease and although at the beginning it was a gradual decline, it has become much more severe in the last six or seven years.

'During this latter time Julie has been her carer, looking after her every personal need, making her as comfortable as possible, and only because of Julie's love and attention her granny has been able to remain in her own home.

'On top of Mrs Taggart's illness she is now going slowly blind as she has now been diagnosed with cataract and Glaucoma which means even more care is needed and Julie lovingly provides this.

'We are nominating this to someone who never looks for any praise or credit, but does a wonderful 24 hour a day job looking after her beloved grandmother.

'Indeed it takes a very special person to do this and Julie is that special person and we feel she is so worthy of your award.'
