July celebrations at the Burnavon

THE July Celebrations Concert takes place this Saturday (July 6) starting at 8pm in the Burnavon.

In a programme introduced by Gary Wilson, guest comedian - compere for the evening, you will be entertained to music, song and dance from a host of vibrant and exciting acts.

Headline act for the evening is Ulster Scots group Risin’ Stour, who with a six piece line up will present a range of lively instrumental ceilidh music, interspersed with some well know local and Scottish songs featuring guest vocalist Kara Burnett.

There will also be an upbeat set from The Sons of William, a regular and popular act in the Burnavon. They will be serving up a specially selected concert programme, including ballads, familiar songs and a few uplifting marching tunes.

The Saturday Folk Club also returns for its second appearance at the July concert. A group of pupils from Orritor and Moneymore Primary Schools, will be coming along to showcase their brilliant flute playing skills. Throughout the evening Markethill Ulster Scots Dancers will also take the stage to dance a number of routines which have won them acclaim throughout the province.
