Jumping into action for charity

GERALDINE Heaney from Lurgan along with her friend Julie Rankin recently completed the Friends of the Cancer Centre’s 150ft sponsored abseil off the Europa Hotel, Belfast.

Her invaluable support will benefit thousands of cancer patients and their families who annually avail of the services of the Cancer Centre, the regional centre for excellence in cancer care, based at the Belfast City Hospital.

Kelly Graham, Events and Community Fundraiser for Friends of the Cancer Centre, said; “Each of our brave participants proved they have a head for heights, and were literally prepared to ‘jump’ into spring in the name of the charity.

“Anyone who would also like to take the same plunge in the name of charity should sign up for our next Autumn abseil on Sunday September 23, by giving ‘Friends’ a call.

“Similarly, if you missed out on this activity but would like to get active for Friends there are a number of other events you can sign up for this summer.
