Junior Orange Lodge parade

Belfast Junior County Orange Lodge is to hold its annual parade and celebrations in Larne next year.

The parade, which last came to Larne in 2005, will take place on April 22 and is expected to attract about 500 people to the town to take part in and watch the proceedings.

The route will begin at Circular Road roundabout, taking in Station Road, High Street, Upper Main Street, Lower Main Street, Curran Road, Bay Road, Chaine Memorial Road, Rugby Terrace and finish at Sandy Bay playing fields, which will also be used as a base for entertainment during the event.

The return route will be the same, except the parade will leave Sandy Bay from Bay Road rather than Rugby Terrace.

Larne Borough Council has agreed to provide the Belfast Lodge with in kind support and provide back-up services such as bin and toilet provision.

Traditionally, the Belfast Lodge parade rotates around council areas annually, and comes to the Larne borough once every nine years.
