Justin McCamphill (SDLP)

JUSTIN McCAMPHILL is a 36-year-old teacher from Dunloy and the SDLP's general election candidate for East Antrim.

Justin is currently a member of the SDLP Executive and the party’s Energy spokesperson. He previously stood as SDLP candidate in Ballymoney Town in 2001 and 2005. In 2001 he almost doubled the SDLP vote and in 2005 maintained his support and received the highest first preference vote of all the SDLP candidates.

Justin is an active trade unionist and has served as a union representative for many years; currently he is President of the North Eastern Association of the NASUWT. He is a member of the Union’s Equality Committee and has a keen interest in promoting equality at all levels in education.

Justin is an independent member of Ballymoney District Policing Partnership and understands the policing issues effecting small communities.

As an SDLP representative, Justin will place particular emphasis on protecting local services, dealing with rising unemployment, improving emergency services in East Antrim, revitalising the tourist industry across the constituency, and the planned relocation of civil service jobs.
