Kelly backs winter relief

The Upper Bann Assembly Member said: “The past 10 days has seen temperatures plummet across the north.

“Cold weather particularly affects the elderly and most vulnerable in society.

“I am delighted to see Minister Ritchie act to trigger cold weather payments to help low income households at this time.

“This will come as a welcome relief to many and will be additional to other fuel payments and will be made either by direct payment to customer accounts or by cheque.

“These payments will be made automatically and people do not have to claim.”
