Kennedy's hold No Smoking Day visit

This year No Smoking Day was on Wednesday, March 8.

No Smoking Day is a great opportunity to stop smoking and each year hundreds of thousands of smokers choose No Smoking Day as the day to quit.

Stopping smoking is the single best thing you can do for your heart’s health, as smoking 1-4 cigarettes a day can triple a person’s risk of heart disease.

This year, Pre-registration Pharmacists, Sara Gardner and Alison Ferguson, from Kennedy’s Pharmacy in Rasharkin visited some local primary schools to speak to the children on the dangers of smoking.

Hopefully, by educating children in their formative years they will not be tempted to start smoking, as they grow older.

With this event they ran a competition for the pupils to design a poster promoting No Smoking Day.

The posters created were fantastic and a selection are now displayed within the window of both the Dunloy and Rasharkin pharmacies for the public to see.
