They were supported in this venture by the Ballymoney Rotary Club and the Coleraine Probus Club and by the end of the meeting had elected a President, Mr Alec McLernon, and a committee.

Time moves on and to mark that occasion an equivalent number of Ballycastle Probus members, wives and guests met for an anniversary dinner at the Ballycastle Golf Club.

The special guests for the evening, Mary Sinnamon, Northern area Probus Liaison Officer and Richard Hunter, President of Ballymoney Rotary Club, were welcomed by Ballycastle Probus President, Michael Colohan, before being shown archive material of that first meeting and photographs of activities over the intervening years.

Before the meal there was a special presentation to two of the founder members, Kenny Porter and Raymond Bakewell, who have had continuing membership since the start.

Another founding member, Joe McCann from Belfast was also present. Following the excellent meal the members and guests were entertained to music and verse provided by Probus members.
