Key roles for local women in top charity

Donaghcloney woman Kerry Anderson has joined the charity as Director of Income Generation, responsible for strategic development of fundraising and Lurgan’s Fiona Greene has been appointed Director of Care and Secondary Prevention.

The Fundraising department, which Kerry heads up, raises around £2.3m each year, through a mixture of individual giving, community fundraising, events and corporate giving.

Kerry commented, “Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke supports people and families who are impacted by chest, heart or stroke conditions. These conditions can devastate lives. We also work to prevent people becoming ill in the first place. I am very excited to take up this new challenge, knowing that the money raised can make such a difference to so many lives in our local community.”

Kerry attended Queens University Belfast gaining a degree in Psychology & English followed by completion of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Postgraduate Diploma.

Having spent 14 years in the charity and voluntary sector before joining NICHS, Kerry has extensive experience in fundraising, marketing and strategic operational development.

Fiona has been with NICHS for six years having previously worked as the Area Manager for the Southern and South Eastern Trust regions. She is passionate about developing services, and ensuring NICHS reach out to as many people and families as they can.

She commented, “Having a long term health condition has a huge impact on the person with the condition and their families. There are over 200,000 people in Northern Ireland who are living with chest, heart and stroke condition.“
