KFC OUTLET FOR TOWN?

ONE of the largest chain of fast food restaurants in the world could be opening in Ballymoney in the near future, the Times can reveal.

Kentucky Fried Chicken who have more than 800 outlets in the United Kingdom and Ireland are understood to be considering a drive through venue in the town.

The venture would be operated on a franchise basis and any interested party would have to meet strict criteria to uphold the high standards set by the company.

An advertisement appeared recently in a Belfast newspaper seeking a drive through site in Ballymoney sparking much speculation about when, where and who would be interested.

Ballymoney is already well served by top quality food venues and the addition of Kentucky would not only provide a jobs boost, but increase competition to an extent where the people to benefit most would be the customer.

A spokesperson for KFC told the Times: “As one of the most popular quick service restaurants in the UK, we’re always looking for new sites.

“We’d like to open a restaurant in the Ballymoney area but haven’t found a suitable site yet, so we’d welcome any suggestions for potential locations.”

Kentucky Fried Chicken employs more than 8,000 people in the United Kingdon and is recognised on the City & Guilds list of Top 100 Apprentice Employers.

Their product and logo (pictured right) are now internationally recognised.
