KICKBOXING: Jordan Reid’s world titles success praised by Mayor

The achievements of Carrickfergus kickboxer Jordan Reid, who won two world championship titles, has been recognised by Mid and East Antrim Council.

Mayor Billy Ashe hosted a reception for the a high-flying member of the Champions Kickboxing Club, Larne, who now lives in Whitehead. Reid won a double world title at the World Kickboxing Association Unified World Championships in Spain last month.

He clinched the World Championship title in 17-19-year-old categories of both the ring and mat disciplines.

Jordan brought great honour to Mid and East Antrim by winning these titles in Benidorm during the prestigious Unified World Championships,” said councillor Ashe.

“I’m told this was both a unique and a legendary event that was recognised as one of the greatest moments in the martial arts and combat sports world.

“Well done to Jordan.”
