Kicked out at police leading him to vehicle

Neil Alexander Fullerton, whose address was given as Portmore Street, Portadown, was fined £200 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for disorderly behaviour on April 15 this year.

He was also fined £100 for resisting police and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

The court heard that at about 2.40pm a man told police that he had been walking along Portmore Street when a man threatened to hit him with a bottle.

He gave police a description of the man who went in the direction of the Pleasure Gardens.

When police found Fullerton he became aggressive and abusive to them telling them to ‘f—k off’ before threatening officers with violence.

As he was being led to the police vehicle he attempted to kick out at police and in the vehicle he prevented the seat belt from being fastened.

When interviewed he made no comment replies to questions.

A solicitor representing Fullerton said he had a lot of alcohol taken and he had been drinking near the boathouse on the Bann.

He added that Fullerton would apologise for his behaviour and that his client had a limited record for this type of public order offence.
