Kidney failure man's plea for new home

A NEWTOWNABBEY man who suffers from kidney failure has made an emotional plea to be re-homed so that he can receive treatment without having to visit hospital.

Wesley Hanlon, who lives in a one bedroom flat in the Ballyduff estate, was given the devastating news about his health in 2008. Now, he is appealing to the Northern Ireland Housing Executive for a move to larger property to accommodate a dialysis unit.

The 38-year-old currently travels to Antrim Area Hospital three times a week for medical care but has also learnt how to administer treatment himself.

Mr Hanlon said his life had changed dramatically because of his health problems.
