Kids learn about hygiene

A special torch aimed at promoting hand hygiene is on tour around parts of Europe, the UK and Ireland, and it recently arrived in the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust.

The Infection Control Team organised events across the Trust, including educational sessions in the First Steps Nursery groups in Lagan Valley. Staff, patients and visitors participated showing their support in raising awareness of the importance of hand hygiene.

Isobel King, Infection Prevention & Control lead, said: “The best way to prevent the spread of infection, including cold and flu viruses is by washing your hands frequently throughout the day with soap and water.”
