Killer dog still on the loose
A CRAZED wolf-like dog allegedly set free in the Magheramason area killed and partially dismembered a family pet after walking for nearly 20 miles, it has been reported.
Councillor Michelle McMackin brought to Members’ attention at a recent Strabane District Council environment committee meeting that she had been made aware “that a dangerous dog, described as having a wolf-like appearance, had been released in the Magheramason area and had made its way to the Newtownstewart area, where it had mauled a family pet dog which had died as a consequence”.
She was aware that the police had been informed of the incident and it was felt that public safety should be of paramount importance, with parents being vigilant, until the dog was apprehended.
It is understood the dog has not struck again, and has not yet been apprehended.
