Kilrea company strikes right note for charities

A KILREA engineering company, SJC Hutchinson Engineering, have struck the right note for two special charities dedicated to helping people in need at home and abroad.

The company has raised £5,000 which they plan to split between Blair Lodge in Bangor and a charity known as TLC (Transforming Lives and Communities) which provides assistance to communities in Mozambique.

Richard Hutchinson, SJC Hutchinson Engineering said: “We are overjoyed to be helping two such deserving charities continue their essential work by providing some financial assistance.

“TLC was set up by remarkable husband and wife team, Melvin and Sharon Kelly, who, together with their family, moved to Mozambique from Northern Ireland in order to offer assistance to rural communities.”

Rosemary Armstrong from Blair Lodge, a specialist care facility in Bangor providing residential care for residents with learning difficulties and mental health problems said: “We would like to thank SJC Hutchinson Engineering for their work in raising this money for Blair Lodge.

“With this charitable donation, and many like them, we will be able to give special treats such as musical therapy to the wonderful people who need our specialist care.”

The Kilrea laser cutting specialist company raised the money, literally, through hard work and sweat.
