Kilroot salt mine provides '˜much-needed resource'
Department for Regional Development Minister Michelle McIlveen has visited the Irish Salt Mining and Exploration site at Kilroot.
The minister was welcomed by East Antrim DUP MLAs Gordon Lyons and David Hilditch.
Mr Lyons said: “It was great to be able to visit the salt mine and to see first hand the work that is being done to ensure that we have enough salt for our roads during the winter.
“I thank the minister for taking the time to visit and see this important local employer that provides a much- needed resource for our roads during this time of year.”
