'˜Kind of forced' to driver car

When police were sent to an address in Derrytrasna they discovered the driver of a car was not insured.

Courtney McCoy (19), Knightsbridge, Lisburn, pleaded guilty at Craigavon Magistrates Court last Friday to driving without having insurance on July 10 this year. She was fined £100 and given six points.

The court heard that at the time of the offence she was an ‘R’ driver and had no previous record.

On July 10 police saw a car in a driveway at Lisnagade Mews and the defendant was in the driver’s seat and three males were in the car.

McCoy confirmed she was not insured.

She told the court that she was ‘kind of forced’ to drive the car and had got herself into a position she couldn’t get out of.

As a result of receiving the points while an ‘R’ driver she will have to sit her test again.
