Kindercare extends Lisburn invitation as foster-care demand grows

Kindercare Fostering NI is inviting locals to go along to talk to its staff at Lisburn’s Bow Street Mall on Saturday, September 20.

An independent, not-for-profit fostering agency, Kindercare Fostering NI works with foster carers to provide a safe and caring environment for vulnerable children.

It provides support on a 24/7 basis, 365 days a year, and offers an ongoing training programme for carers, tailored to individual needs. Aremuneration package is also offered to all carers. Reports suggest over 200 new foster families will be needed in Northern Ireland this year to meet demand.

Without enough families willing and able to offer homes to children in need, some will find themselves living far from family, school and friends, being split from brothers and sisters, or being placed with a carer who does not have the ideal skills and experience to meet their specific needs.

If you have a spare bedroom, and feel you would like to become a carer, and make a difference to a child’s life please contact Gillian at Kindercare Fostering on 02890 941690 and you will be supported and guided through the process.

A spokesperson said: “We will be at Bow Street Mall, Lisburn on Saturday 20 September. “Why not come along and talk to us? Alternatively you can register your interest online at www.kindercare.co.uk, or email [email protected]

“You can also text Foster16 and your full name to 88020 for more information.
