Linzi, who owns the Key to Success Consultants, says that owning a dog has “completely changed her family’s life for the better,” and revealed that the King Charles breed has a special place in her heart.

“When I was young I had a King Charles spaniel called Lady, so when it came to getting a pet for my own family I knew what breed to get,” Linzi explained.

“It’s their eyes, the expressions on their face and their temperaments which mean they are perfect for a young family.

“They are placid, gentle lap dogs.”

Linzi says she set up the Facebook group two to three months ago to give people in the borough the opportunity to share their pictures, stories, information about King Charles spaniels and to support each other.

“It’s a great chance for people to share their love of the breed,” she continued.

“We are now planning to meet up to provide a social gathering for group members and their pets to get to know each other on a walk down Larne promenade.”

The group will meet outside the Prom Cafe at 2.30pm this Saturday. Refreshments and doggy bowls will be available.

Anyone interested in attending is asked to first contact the Cavalier King Charles Larne group on Facebook.
