Kirkinriola Primary School – letter was misleading

THE North Eastern Education and Library Board has noted with regret the recent misleading comments in relation to developments in Kirkinriola Primary School.

The North Eastern Board has been working closely with the Board of Governors of Kirkinriola to build on the existing strengths of the school and these anonymised letters to the local press are unhelpful and include statements which are simply untrue.

The North Eastern Board will continue to work with the Board of Governors which has the responsibility for addressing any issues of concern. The Board would wish to stress that at no time has the future of the school been under consideration and it is mischievous for anyone to suggest anything to the contrary.

The North Eastern Education and Library Board recently reconstituted the Board of Governors of the school as required by legislation and both the Board and Board of Governors remain committed to working together in the interests of Kirkinriola Primary School and the local community.”

The Board is of the view that any issues drawn to the attention of the Board of Governors would be addressed in an appropriate manner and the North Eastern Board would ask individuals to respect the established consultative mechanisms and to work through these procedures.
